About a year ago, I deleted Instagram. I felt a bit overwhelmed.
But one app I’ve never been able to delete is Reddit.
I usually add the word “Reddit” to the end of Google searches these days. Google’s gotten trickier to use and it’s easier to get directly to an answer from a person on Reddit.
However, my Reddit usage isn’t just utility, if I’m honest.
I check my Home feed when I’m drinking my coffee. I check for breaking news when I’m moving the laundry. I think about posting neighborhood drama on /r/LosAngeles.
But an uptick in advertisements and endless doom scrolling have made me reconsider what I’m doing on Reddit all this time. Is it really a community? Can I even remember the last Reddit post I upvoted?
I need to touch grass for a few days.
