I have a Notion document on my phone called “Lyric ideas.”

It’s not the same as my “Lyrics” folder which has full songs, choruses, and half-written verses to be finished later.

Instead, it’s just a list of clever phrases or observations that could become a song later. Most songs start here before they take shape.

A subtle difference.

Yesterday, I wrote down the phrase “highly likely” after visiting a coffee shop by the same name.

And “Brand new boots with bleach blond hair” after I saw a guy walking out of the Metro station.

And “Right now, I love you baby, oh that’s it” when I finally made it home.
